Activity of Power System Engineering & Technology Development Division
- To provide Design and Engineering services to utilities from India and abroad for EHV Transmission Lines and Sub- Stations for projects of 66 kV and above where CEA is approached for consultancy.
- To investigate the failure of transmission lines of 220 kv and above of all the utilities, ascertain its causes and recommend measures to avert such failures in future.
- To investigate the failure of Sub-Station equipment of 220 kV and above of all the utilities, ascertain its causes and recommend measures to avert such failures in future.
- Examination of DPRs submitted by utilities for funding under PSDF Scheme.
- Framing of CEA (Technical Standard for Construction of Electrical Plants and Electric Lines) Regulations.
- Framing of standards and manuals for design, operation and maintenance of transmission lines and sub-station equipment
- Advise Central Govt. I MoP/ State Govt. I Regulatory Commissions / Power utilities on all technical matters relating to power transmission
- To acquire information about new technologies and implementation of same through Lead Agencies
- Nodal division for Compilation of inputs/replies for the RfP documents for TBCB project and Cost Committee for TBCB
- Preparation of Standard Operating Procedure for Shifting of transmission lines.
- Examination of issues raised by Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA) regarding clarity on Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Roles and Responsibilities
- Regulation for installation of transmission lines in GIB habitat area.
- Safety audit of transmission lines/substations etc. as per CEA (safety requirement for construction, O&M of electric plant and electric lines) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 indicating its findings, recommendations and best practices being followed
- Providing information under RTI Act, providing inputs to Ministry of Power on Parliament Questions, Committees of the Parliament, VIP references and legal references.
