Operation Performance Monitoring Division
Operation Performance Monitoring Division - Brief Description
Chief Engineer : Shri Lalrinsanga
Activity of Operational Performance Monitoring Division
- Data collection and compilation from Generating Power Plants (Capacity-25 MW and above) of various sources (Thermal, Hydro and Nuclear).Data is collected from around 534 stations and 1750 units through National Power Portal (NPP). Daily Generation Report (DGR) is prepared from the data collected and the report is published on daily basis at NPP.
- Preparation of Monthly Generation Report (18 column report) twice in a month (tentative and actual) based on data received from utilities. The report is published on monthly basis at NPP.
- Analysis of generation performance-Source/Region/Sector/Utility/Fuel-wise,hydro reservoir level, percentage achievement of generation program etc.
- Assessment of annual generation program in coordination with RPCs and generating utilities considering fuel requirement, past performance of existing power plants, maintenance schedule, demand assessment, generation from new units etc.
- Providing guidance to the generating utilities in finalizing their Annual generation program and also providing inputs to GM/RPC for preparation of Load Generation Balance Report.
- Assist MoP in analysis of generation performance and preparation of various reports, such as Plants under long outage, reserve shutdown/low system demand, low PLF Plants etc. Providing inputs to MoP for projection of Annual Generation Program (Unit wise/Plant wise).
- Preparation of Review of performance of Thermal power stations on annual basis. The parameters in the review include Plant Load Factor (PLF), Operational Availability, Planned Maintenance, Forced Outages, Partial Outages, Auxiliary Power Consumption, Specific Fuel Consumption and Station Heat Rate.
