National Power Committee - Brief Description

Chief Engineer:

  • The Division has been entrusted with following works:
    NPC Secretariat : NPC was established by Ministry of Power in 2013, to evolve a common approach on issues related to reliability and security of the grid, at National level. The division work as secretariat to NPC with Chief Engineer as Member Secretary of NPC.
    NRCE: CEA constituted National Reliability Council for Electricity (NRCE) in pursuance of CERC order dated 11.12.2013. NRCE has further constituted sub-Groups for monthly approval of ATC/TTC methodology and for Preparation of Reliability Standards for Protection System and Communication System.
    PSDF:Techno-economic Subgroup headed by Member (GO& D), CEA is assisted by NPC Division for Techno Economic Appraisal of the various proposals for funding from PSDF.
